Rushing the Season

I knew when I saw St. Patrick's Day and Easter merchandise in the stores that Valentine's Day had to be real close.  Just like seeing Christmas merchandise even before Halloween!  Retailers really want to part us from our money.  Pretty soon they'll be selling holiday merchandise year round -- you won't know if it's Christmastime or the Fourth of July!

Here is little Chocklit -- calorie free chocolate, if you will.  He is 9 inches tall and is made of curly brown mohair.  His paw pads are silver leather and his collar is silver lame'.  His eyes are black antique shoe buttons and his nose is embroidered with silver perle cotton.  He looks good enough to eat, but don't.
What a perfect gift for your Valentine.  You can find his listing in my Etsy shop,

Dr. Bear Prescribes Chicken Soup

Well, Dr. Bear has got his scrubs.  He is still waiting for his lab coat and stethoscope.  (My sister is waiting to see me attach those teeny tiny buttons to the lab coat.)  But until then, he felt no compunction about prescribing good old chicken soup.  So, there is a big pot simmering on the stove.  Later, I will make some knaidlach (that's matzoh balls to you non-jews) and my sister and I will have it for dinner.

Mmmm . . . can'tcha just smell it?

A Cold's End and a Naked Bear

Thank G-d my cold is almost at its end!  I have been shtupping myself with Mucinex and cough drops.  I had a chapped nose for awhile.  Made me look like Rudolph.  But, after many applications of moisturizer and finally using tissues with lotion, I look normal.

Well, you know what Robert Burns said about the best laid plans.  I was hoping to finish three bears by the end of last week but have only completed one, and, he is still naked.  He is a custom order and will have his M.D. in short order.  (This means that he will be wearing scrubs and a lab jacket.)

Here are photos of a naked Dr. Bear.

Under the Weather

Oh, boy, do I hab a head code.  Sneezeeg ad coffeeg ad bloweeg the crap out ob by dose.
Took a Mucinex, ate Jewish penicillin, a.k.a. chicken soup and drank lots of tea.

I was hoping to have completed three bears by the end of the week, but, all I have is a disembodied head and some cut out body parts.   Today, after much sleep, I feel a great deal better and tomorrow I will be a bear making fool.  Just you wait and see!

My, How Time Flies

Holy Mackerel (as my grandmother would say)!  Is it January 9th already?!  Ever notice that the older you get, the faster time goes by?  Wasn't it just the other day that I was musing about how old I would be in the year 2000?  (I was 53, and when I was 22 and considering it, I thought that 53 was an old lady.  And, now I are one.)  Okay, put your calculator away, I'm 63.  My sister, who shares my house with me, will be the big six oh on January 16th.

I am making three bears simultaneously.  Usually I make only one at a time, but, since one of the bears is sheared beaver and another is commissioned, working on the three at a time will assuage any tedium.  So watch my Etsy shop and my Artfire studio (or just use the facebook link and check 'em out there).
